The primary purpose of the Club is to provide an organization for participants and enthusiasts of the sports of hang gliding, paragliding, and speed flying in Whatcom and Skagit Counties that does the following:

- Manage and administer existing flying sites and acquire new flying sites by working with governmental agencies and/or private individuals.
- Maximize flying opportunities of the free flight community at large.
- Promotes safety and provides education information for all pilots.
- Promotes and improves the public image of the free-flight.
- Holds meetings, events, and competitions to foster camaraderie, skills development, and information exchange among pilots.
